Is Al-Anon For Me?

Are you tired of trying to stop someone else from drinking?

Are you stressed, afraid and exhausted?

Is your life spiraling out of control?

Below are 3 simple self-assessment quizzes to help
you decide if Al-Anon is right for you.

"Is my husband drinking too much?" He still goes to work every day, so that must mean that he is not an alcoholic - right?  I wish I had someone to talk to about this."

"I don't understand why my husband doesn't appreciate me. He should be happy that I take care of everything.  He says that I am too controlling and driving him crazy. What am I doing wrong?"

"My mom drinks too much. When she's drunk she yells and throws things at me. I try really hard to get good grades and stay out of her way so she won't get so angry with me, but nothing works. I just want to hide in my room."

Try an Al-Anon meeting either in person or online.  There's no reason to suffer in silence and be alone.  Many who attend their first meeting describe it as an epiphany when they realize they’ve discovered a unique community of support and solidarity where the weight of the world has been lifted from their shoulders.  We recommend that you attend at least six meetings as each group meeting has its own personality and style.  In doing so, you will find a place that’s right for you.

Al-Anon has many resources available to help you in recovery - from pamphlets and books to readings and meetings - where you will find peace and a path forward out of the chaos. We urge you to try our program. It has helped many of us find solutions that lead to serenity.
